Miller, Judith "Biological Weapons and America's Secret War Germs" 2001(10 pages)

In Oregon a cult group called the Rajneeshees had bought a 64,000 acre ranch in Wasco County. The leader who the cultists called Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh bought this land for their agricultural commune where they would celebrate their"enlightened master's" credo of beauty, love, and guiltless sex. Made up of thousands of followers mostly wealth westerners. But this is where a out break of salmonella occured. From one of the cultists favorite eating places at Shakey's Pizza, at the salad bar. It was there were the first cases were recorded.

Reaction:
I thought of the story as interesting. The story of the cult and what they do was interesting but it had nothing to do with the salmonella outbreak. The book had told about the cult and the crimes that they had done but, then jump right in the story of the salmonella food posioning. I didn't think that it had fit too well with how the story was going. As a start out to the story I thought that it was a very interesting beginning.
