Summary:
Sprint is suing against AT&T because of a merger between them and T-mobile. Sprint says that it is anti-competitive by taking T-mobile in one fell swoop. Instead of holding their "peace" Sprint has decided to go against the deal now instead of earlier. AT&T's deal would get rid of one of the four biggest cell phone providers. That Sprint says that would increase the prices hurting the consumers. Sprint also says that the 39 billion dollars to buy T-mobile would not only hurt sprint but also hurt the smaller phone services. But AT&T has argued that it would provide a better service to those in the more rural areas of the United States and they had also pledged to bring back 5,000 call center jobs back to the United States. AT&T says that they will be able to do more with this merger.
Reaction:
I think that sprint might be over thinking this merger. I feel that it would be better for the people who don't have a cell phone service. It also makes sense for the people living in the more rural areas because they are expanding their services. AT&T also said that they would bring back jobs to the United States, which is always a good thing. I really do think that this merger is a good thing.
